Bodybuilding
Bodybuilding is the use of progressive resistance exercise
to control and develop one's musculature. An individual who engages in this
activity is referred to as a bodybuilder.
Eugen Sandow, the "Father of Modern Bodybuilding".
Basic exercises are exercises that involve a large number of
muscles in the body. They are generally multi-joint movements that target the
larger muscles of the body, such as chest, back and thighs but also involve the
smaller muscles as well such as the shoulders, arms, calves and abs, as
auxiliary muscles. Examples of such movements are the close grip chin-ups, wide
grip pull-ups, dips, incline dumbbell bench presses, flat bench presses,
squats, and lunges.
